One can be certified platinum by the RIAA without actually selling a million just yet. Miss Minaj is actually between 800-900k units sold…but the RIAA bases itself on units SHIPPED, not sold, so after over a million have gone out, the HB is now a PLATINUM selling artist!! Congraulations, Nicki! (And at the rate she is going, actual platinum sales are probably 3 weeks away, tops.
