What: Charity basketball game featuring NBA stars LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, and Chris Paul.
Where: The Palestra, University of Pennsylvania campus.
Teams: Team Melo (James, Anthony, Durant, Paul, Gary Neal, Josh Selby, Donte Green) vs. Philly (Lou Williams, Hakim Warrick, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris, Ronald Murray, Aaron Owens, Jason Thompson, Wayne Ellington, John Salmons, Lynn Greer, Kyle Lowry, Tyreke Evans).
Team Philly started off with an early lead in the first quarter. At one point Team Philly and Team Bmore went back to back to back with alley oops giving the Philly crows a great show.
Mardy Collins enters the game and Carmelo guards him. I’m shocked only because when Mardy played for the Knicks him and Melo got into a fight years ago. The two had a personal grudge whenever other had the ball.
Temple Alum Dionte Christmas was guarded Lebron at one point in the game. I’m unclear as to why the Philly crowd is boo’ing Lebron whenever he touches the rock.
Aaron “AO” Owens made a nice crossover on Chris Paul but slipped and turned the ball over. The crowd was cheering on the And 1 star but he failed to deliver by finishing the play.
Team Philly has a few players who are not in the NBA but are playing to be recruited.
There are a few members in the crowd chanting “Delonte Fucked Your Mom” whenever Lebron touches the ball.
Lebron James lead the fast break against Mardy Collons, threw up a shot and followed his missed with a powerful two hand jam.
Lebron ended the half with a crazy one-hand alley oop from Chris Paul
66-58 at the half, Team Philly up. Melo had 20pts & 11 rebounds at halftime. Lebron 17pts and 8 rebounds. For Team Philly Kyle Lowry had 17pts 3 rebs and 3 assists, while Tyreke Evans had 12 its and 12 rebounds. Not too many assists during the half, both teams only recorded 18 assists out of the combined 124 first half points.
