What do you when you’re waiting for what many call, “the fight of the century?” You play basketball.
That’s what Manny Pacquiao is doing. While he and the rest of the world wait patiently for Floyd Mayweather and himself to step in the ring and square up, Manny has been spending his time wisely. He’s run for public office in his native Phillipines and now he’s trying his hand at a new sport.
Even though he stands at just 5 feet 6 inches, his dream job is running the point guard spot for a professional basketball team. I’m sure he knows that his hoop dreams ended the minute he realized that there are NBA coaches taller than him, he can still run ball in his country.
A month before he’s set to defend his WBO welterweight title against Chris Algieri, Pac suited up for the newly formed
KIA Sorento of the Philippine Basketball Association.
In just seven minutes of play, Pac committed two turnovers and scored 1 point in 10 minutes of play in his team’s 80-66 win over the Blackwater Elite at Philippine Arena.
From the looks of that stat line, Manny should spend more time sparring than shooting in the gym.
