Now we bring light to the AFC West. The new home of 4 time MVP Peyton Manning. Here are my predictions from worst to first:

San Diego Chargers: (2011:8-8   2012: 7-9)

The Chargers went out and got a big name WR in Vincent Jackson this offseason but if the Chargers defense doesn’t step up this will be Norv Turner’s last year as their Head Coach. QB Phillip Rivers is one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks but can’t get the monkey off his back. He’ll need a MVP year to get San Diego into the postseason

Key Additions: Melvin Ingram, Robert Meachem

Key Losses: Vincent Jackson

Oakland Raiders (2011: 8-8      2012:9-7)
The strength of this team is in the backfield with Run DMC ( Darren McFadden). If the Raiders can protect Carson Palmer and add a passing game to this offense the Raider may have a chance to make some noise.  The Raiders also need their defensive leader Rolondo McClain to step up. We’ll see if the Raiders have enough to get a postseason game in the Black Hole

Key Additions: None

Key Losses: Michael Bush

Kansas City Chiefs (2011:  8-8      2012: 10-6)
Last year I picked the Chiefs to step up and make the postseason but injuries and a mid-season coaching change stopped that. With Romero Crennel now running the show and with the additions of tackle Eric Winston and RB Peyton Hills the Chiefs will make the postseason. Look for big years from Matt Cassel , Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry. A matchup with the Broncos Week 17 may be for the AFC west championship

Key Additions:Peyton Hillis

Key Losses: Brandon Carr

Denver Broncos:(2011: 8-8  2012: 10-6)
I’m not even gonna say to much about this team. Four words will determine a AFC Championship or a 5-11 season. “A Healthy Peyton Manning”. John Elway may have made the offseason move of the year. If Denver’s D can help Peyton by stopping the run Peyton will prove he still has it.

Key Additions: Peyton Manning

Key Losses: Tim Tebow
