So check this out guys, there’s this new initiative called “Water is Humanity.” It is a really cool collaboration between hip hop and the fight to give clean water to areas that are deprived of it. So often we, including myself, take for granted our easy access to high quality water. Many third world countries do not have the privilege to go into their kitchen and get a cold glass of water from the sink or pull out a bottle of water from their refrigerator. Water is important! It is an essential element of our everyday being. With that being said, rap artists, Y?Arcka and Drematic are making it their mission to supply clean water to those who do not already have access to it. Their album, Water, is quite unique. It has two sides. The first is “Unfiltered.” This portion of the album is the raw, traditional hip hop and live performances, whereas the other side, “Purified,” is on the reformed side. It does not have profanity. The Purified portion of the album is to gain recognition; it is meant to be informative so that it can gain the attention of activists, celebrities and philanthropists so that they can support the idea of bringing fresh water to impoverished nations. refined and speaks directly to environmental and societal issues. What is also amazing about this campaign is the fact that all proceeds go towards building fresh water wells. It is known as Project 100.
