Owens-HHS Is This the End?: Owens Torn ACL

With rumors spinning that the NFL lockout could end before July 20th 2011 and on the verge of entering his 16th season in the National Football League, Wide Receiver Terrell Owens had undergone surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in one of his knees following a undisclosed injury earlier this month.

The 37 year old Vet wasn’t available for any comments but sources report that Orthopedist
Dr. James Andrews performed Owens surgery.

To date it’s unknown how TO was hurt. One source reports he tore his ACL during a Personal workout , while another source says TO was injured during a taping for his new VH1 series “Single Ladies”.  Owens caught 72 passes for 983 yards and 9 touchdowns during his 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals but his season ended week 14 when he torn meniscus cartilage in his left knee Dec.19 versus the Cleveland Browns.

Owens who is only behind Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yardage will be a free agent when the lockout ends but with the status of his injury still unknown his season and NFL career may be in jeopardy.
