With all of the baseball world watching the throne in Philadelphia with the Phillies 4 big aces taking the mound daily some people have over looked the phenomenal season Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander is having.
The Tigers ace recorded his season High 17th win Thursday evening as his Tigers defeated division rivals the Cleveland Indians 4-3. Verlander allowed only three hits and stuck out ten batters in seven innings of dominant play. Verlander’s 17th win of this season was also his 100th win in his young career.
Justin downplayed his personal milestone showing in the heated AL central race he is much more concerned with his teams success and not personal success. With his victory, Verlander became just the seventh pitcher since 1969 to have five 17- win seasons before his 29th birthday.
