After a week 4 miracle comeback in Jerry’s playhouse against the Dallas Cowboys, things are continuing to look up for the 4-0 Detroit Lions. As they prepare for a big division showdown against the Chicago Bears on Monday night the Lions’ announced their 12th overall pick Auburn standout Nick Fairley will make his NFL debut.
Fairley who was the 2010 Lombardi Award winner and contributed 60 tackles and 11.5 sacks for Auburn’s BCS national championship team broke his foot in training camp and misses the entire preseason and the Lions’ first four games. Fairley returned to practice for the first time Tuesday and very was active and vocal during team drills. Lions coach Jim Schwartz told the media he would over play Fairley, he would need to help him progress. Schwartz added ” You’re talking about a guy that played in zero preseason games, and you always have a progression with those. We won’t go from zero to 100 without taking some steps along the way.
