The biggest undrafted free-agent name on the market is now off the board. Former Boston College star linebacker and cancer survivor Mark Herzlich has decided to sign with the New York Pro football Giants.

Herzlich, who was widely considered as the best linebacker in college football over the last three seasons missed his entire 2009 season battling Ewing’s Sarcoma, a Rare form of bone cancer. After a full recovery, Herzlich return to thr Golden Eagles team in 2010 recording 65 tackles and 4 interceptions while starting all 13 games.

Although Herzlich played linebacker at the college level, I see him moving to defensive end in the NFL and becoming a defensive anchor for the Giants. One thing for sure the Giants were able to steal a great young leader heading into the future of their organization.
