cover-2 2012 AFC East Preview And Predictions

Now It time to Talk about the AFC East. Home of Tom Brady, Stevie Johnson and now Tebowmania. Here are my predictions from worst to first.

Miami Dolphins (2011: 6-10    2012: 6-10)
With new head coach former Packers (OC) Joe Philbin and rookie QB Ryan Tannehill looking to be the starter the Fins are certainly in a rebuilding stage. The signing and releasing of Wideout Chad Johnson will haunt this team all year. The Defense is the strongest part of this team but won’t help the Dolphins win more than 5 games. I smell a top ten pick in the 2013 draft

Key Additions: Chad Johnson,  Ryan Tannehill

Key Losses: Chad Johnson , Vontae Davis

New York Jets (2011: 8-8     2012:9-7)
Rex Ryan’s circus certainly has the talent to win this division but with media headlines coming faster than offensive TDs I don’t even see this team making the postseason. Trading for Tebow and the decline of the Jets Defensive may put Rex on the hot seat. The Jets offense is in dyer need of a WR and Stallworth, Johnson, Burress and Owens are all unemployed. Rex better pick up the phone. Tebow will be starter by week 5. Book it.

Key Additons: Tim Tebow,  Stephen Hill

Key Losses: Ladainian Tomlinson, Plaxico Burress

New England Patriots: (2011: 13-3      2012:11-5)
It’s hard to bet again Bill and Brady but when is the last time the Pats won the Super Bowl? Oh yea during Spygate. With probably the easiest schedule in the league this season this high powered offense will put up numbers but not be a threat in the postseason. A meeting with Buffalo Week 11 could play big in the playoff picture. Look out for huge seasons from both Gronk  and Hernandez.

Key Additons: Jeff Demps, Brandon Lloyd, Visanthe Shiancoe, Dont’a Hightower

Key Losses: Ben Javris Green Ellis

Buffalo Bills (2011:   6-10   2012: 11-5)
Buffalo seemed ready during the first 8 weeks of the 2011 to step out of the shadows and take this division. The last 8 weeks showed they weren’t. I like the Bills chances for success this season. The addition of Mario Williams was huge and Stevie Johnson will have a great season. Look for Buffalo’s D to be ranked in the top 5 and lead them to a AFC East championship. A key matchup will be week 17 against the Jets. This could be the game that decides the division.

Key Additons: Mario Williams,Stephon Gilmore, Tarvaris Jackson

Key Losses:Vince Young
