As if things can’t get worst for Jerry Jones and his Dallas Cowboys, the teams leading tackler and Middle linebacker Sean Lee‘s season is over.

Lee will have surgery on his right big toe and is expected to recover fully and be ready for the start od the 2013 NFL season.Lee suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s win at Carolina.At first Cowboys brass hoped the injury was just a turf toe but a second MRI on Tuesday confirmed significant ligament damage.

Lee leads the Cowboys in tackles with 77 in the first six games.Lee  has recorded two tackles for loss, one pickoff,  two pass deflections and a forced fumble. Sean Lee will be replaced by Dan Connor and linebacker Bruce Carter will take over as the defensive signal caller.

The Cowboys will host the New York Giants this sunday on Jerry World at 4:25.
