As things weren’t already bad enough between Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame, things turn up just a bit more as GuWop proceeds to file a lawsuit against Waka and his mother Debra Antney for unpaid royalties.
“The 1017 Brick Squad Records founder believes that Waka and Antney are responsible for the downfall of his music career. Court documents state that Antney became Gucci’s manager in 2006 and both Antney and Waka released Gucci’s music without his permission and also collected royalties on behalf of the rapper and his music.
“Defendants’ misrepresentations and omissions were made with the intent that plaintiffs rely upon them,” read the lawsuit, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “The plaintiffs relied on the representations and would not have entrusted (the) defendants with their careers and livelihoods otherwise.”
Gucci says he’s also found himself with tax issues due to the handling of his money by Antney. The rapper, who has requested that assets for Antney and Waka be frozen, is suing for fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy.
This year any cordial relationship the two artists may have had ultimately crumbled and was witnessed by many on social media.
Issues between Waka and Gucci began to arise in March of this year when Gucci Tweeted, “Waka flacka flames officially dropped off brick squad 1017. Big Guwop say give me a offer fa this disloyal lil nigga.”
Although a label rep stated that Gucci’s account was hacked, insults between the two rappers continued with Gucci even offering to sell Waka’s recording contract for $1 million in August.
Mostly recently, Gucci attributed his erratic behavior both online and offline to a lean addiction and offered an apology to friends and fans.”
