After changing their name from the Hornets to the Pelicans, the brass in New Orleans also appears to be changing the culture. After drafting former Kentucky Wildcat center Nerlens Noel and trading him to the Philadelphia 76ers for all-star guard Jrue Holiday, the Pelicans have traded center Robin Lopez to the Portland Trailblazers and point guard Greivis Vasquez to the Sacramento Kings for former NBA Rookie of the year Tyreke Evans who is expected to sign a four year, $44 million dollar deal.
Playing in a tough western conference the next question for the Pelicans will be who starts in the backcourt with this guard heavy roster. Evans could play the small forward position or maybe be asked to be instant offense off the bench as the sixth man. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more details during the NBA free agency period.
