After a great amount of thinking and pondering Atlanta Falcons future Hall of Fame Tight End Tony Gonzalez has announced he will return for the 2013 NFL Season.
The 36 year old tight end made comments of possibly retiring after a NFC Championship game loss where he recorded 8 catches for 72 yards and a 10 yard touchdown catch but the Falcons allowed the 49ers to come back and win the game 28-24 stealing Tony’s first real chance at a Super Bowl ring.
Tony first made the announcement on Fox Sports and then later hit twitter and tweeted this to Falcons fans:
“I’m happy to say that after speaking with my family, I’m coming back, The lure of being on such a great team and organization, along with unbelievable fan support was too good to pass up. We have a great shot to get to the Super Bowl, RISE UP ATLANTA!”
The Falcons and the city of Atlanta was hoping Tony would give it one more run and fortunately for them he will.
