Tonight’s 2013 NFL week 15 Monday Night football features the (7-6) Baltimore Ravens facing the (7-6) Detroit Lions in a primetime matchup between two teams who badly need a victory tonight to stay in their conferences respective playoff races.
You never know what Detroit Lions football team will step on the field any given sunday or monday in this case. The Lions have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL with Reggie Bush and Calvin Johnson but one week they show it, the next they can go scoreless. They tend to be one of the NFL’s most undisciplined teams. If the Lions look to win their first NFC North crown in almost 20 years that must change starting tonight. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears both are in the wings for the NFC title and a lost by the Lions tonight would make for a very interesting two weeks of football.
The reigning Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens started the season off very slow but some how they are still in the playoff race and because the Cincinnati Bengals lost yesterday, a win tonight for the Ravens has them still in the race for the AFC North crown. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and Ravens running back Ray Rice have not been playing up to their pro bowl form this season but as of late they have stepped up to the challenge of making it to the postseason and the Ravens are poised to defend their trophy.
I expect it to be a high scoring offense dominated ball game between the Lions and Ravens. Look for Calvin Johnson to score 2 times tonight and record over 220 yards receiving. Meanwhile for Baltimore, Joe Flacco is going to put on a passing display tossing 2 touchdowns, two of which will go to Ravens receiver Marlon Brown who will help the Ravens get the upset on Monday night football.
