Many NBA fans and Atlanta residents know Lou Williams for his basketball talent but many may not be aware of his giving spirit. This year, Louis Williams and the Lou Williams foundation were host of the 10th annual “Lou Williams Youth Basketball Camp”.
Taking place at South Gwinnett High School aka LouWillVille, the Lou Williams foundation hosted a week long youth basketball skills camp teaching kids ages 7-15 the basics of basketball and teamwork. With special guest such as NBA star Josh Smith, WNBA star Angel McCoughtry and R&B sensation Jacob Latimore all serving as guest speakers during the camp, the youth not only got to learn life skills, they were able to speak with people who have been in their shoes and excelled in what they were passionate about.
During the last day of camp, HHS1987’s Eldorado and Director AMart were invited out by Lou Williams and Theory Communications to get a in depth look at the camp and interact with the campers on their experience from a week in LouWillVille. Big shout out to Lou Williams, Mama Williams, Chuck Ellis, Theory Communications and the entire Uptown Sounds family for putting together a great week of learning for the youth of the Atlanta/South Gwinnett area.
