Recently HHS1987 caught up with Atlanta super producer Sonny Digital to discuss an array of things. Sonny Digital has had his hands in most of the Top 40 hip-hop tracks to hit the airwaves over the past few years and Sonny doesn’t have any plans of slowing down.
We spoke to Sonny Digital about the role he has taken in breaking and developing artist here in Atlanta. Not only was Sonny Digital a catalyst in the early success of hip-hop Que, Sonny Digital has also took hold to hip-hop artist Wavy Wallace, Trinidad James and most recently Makonnen. Sonny spoke on building relationships with these artist and having the ear to know just what they need to reach success in today’s hip-hop world.
Sonny also spoke to us about his upcoming project that is currently in the works. Although Sonny hasn’t titled his new project, he already has a few hip-hop heavyweights on board. Sonny acknowledged that rappers Future, 2 Chainz, Trindad James, Que, Ace Hood, Makonnen and more will be featured on his new project. No release date is currently set but Sonny hopes to have the project out before the Holiday season.
Before concluding the interview, Sonny informed us of what we can expect from him as the year moves on. Sonny promised his fans and fellow producers that he will be releasing a free Drum Kit later this year. Sonny also spoke on touring the nation with his friend and fellow producer Metro Boomin on their Metro Boomin & Sonny Digital Artist Showcase tour. The tour will give artist the chance to perform in front of Sonny and Metro Boomin and possible win the chance to work with them.
