The 2014 NBA free agency period has been crazy to say the least so far and today looks to be the same. NBA all-star Carmelo Anthony has agreed to terms with Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks and he is returning to NYC.
Carmelo had this to say via his website:
“A few years ago I dreamed of coming back to New York City, the place of my birth, and on February 23, 2011 that became a reality,” Anthony said in a statement. “This organization has supported me and in return, I want to stay and build here with this city and my team. At this pivotal juncture in my career, I owed it to myself and my family to explore all of the options available to me. Through it all, my heart never wavered.”
The next step for the New York Knicks will be signing more players to play alongside Melo for the future. With Melos signing a deal worth over $100 million, that will be easier said then done. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for all your NBA news.
