Recently, entertainment media and digital mogul Karen Civil was in Atlanta for her “Live Civil Tour.” The event was held at the Level Up Brunch which was hosted by Ashley Marietta. Following her event, Karen sat down with HHS1987’s Eldorado to talk about a variety of topics.
First of all, many people know her name, and her importance to hip hop, but not her story. Karen shared her story, and road to success with us. The New Jersey native recalled starting out as an intern and the challenges she faced starting out in the game. She mentioned working with Funkmaster Flex, Wale, Diplomats, and many more. She noted she learned a lot through marketing and branding. Karen used the skills she learned from her website, as well as in the digital game to help artists take their career and brand to the next level. After speaking on her success story, Karen talked about her current “Live Civil Tour.” She elaborated with the importance to connect with her fans, supporters, and those who admire her success with events like “Level Up Brunch.”
In what is believed to be a male dominated industry, Karen Civil gives advice to ladies pursing success in the entertainment as well. She explains the importance of keeping their integrity and remaining graceful. She even shared stories she faced to overcome the stereotypes.
