Continuing the ongoing drama between him and his label Cash Money Records, Weezy F. Baby (maybe he’ll retire that name) is now making more moves to distance himself from the company. The Young Money boss is seeking new routes in receiving money he feels he’s owed by Birdman and Cash Money Records. Recently, Wayne inked a deal with Kobalt, a globally known music royalties collection company who work with the likes of Busta Rhymes (who has also bounced from Cash Money), DJ Premier, Bruno Mars, Kid Cudi, Ariana Grande, Noah “40” Shebib, Calvin Harris, and Sam Smith. The company overall, houses more than 8,000 artists and songwriters and 500 publishing companies, which makes Kobalt a premiere representation for any professional recording artist.

Kobalt:

“We are thrilled to add such an exceptional list of talented artists to the Kobalt Neighbouring Rights division,” Ann Tausis, Managing Director of Kobalt Neighbouring Rights, tells AllHipHop.com. “Our goal from the beginning has been to offer trust and transparency to our clients, and the word is spreading! I could not be more pleased with the inroads we are making, helping creators maximize their earnings from current and previous performances on a global scale.”
