If you’re not a boss, then what are you? Dame Dash isn’t for all that bubblegum talk.. he’s about that action. & according to Dame, you can’t call yourself a “man” if you don’t own your own business. Dame has had so much recent influence over the masses that he copped a hashtag named after him: #TweetLikeDameDash (haha!).
Moving forward, the pic seen above was posted to Dusko Poppington’s instagram yesterday, confirming the rumors that have been circulating. Dash said in a recent interview that he was buying out the popular street e-tailer Karmaloop, which was quickly rebutted via twitter by the owner, but numbers don’t lie! The photo was accompanied by the following caption:
Board meeting had to go over some @damondashstudios biz showed him @loisaidas and @toohonorable_ddstudios got the thumbs up and yeah the Karmaloop thing is real…,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is exactly how I saw things 10 years ago and he’s doing some shit that even I couldn’t do but it’s not my place to speak on it…but let’s just say iam proud as fuck…that’s the way it’s supposed to be…the younger dudes are supposed to be better then us…that’s what we fight for #honaorablepeoplesticktogether
Karmaloop has been around for 15 years & talks have been going around that company would soon be forced to file bankruptcy. How could that happen when they feature such lucrative brands like 10 Deep, Crooks & Castles, Adidas, & so on? Sh*t happens.. Karmaloop reportedly was $8 Million in debt with Insight Venture Partners of New York & $1 Million with Google, as reported by Boston Globe.
George Selkoe, the owner, spoke on the matter:
We tried to do too many things.. We launched too many different sites in too short of a period of time.
Now what does Kanye & Dame have in store for the brand is the real question? Will it go “Yeezy” on us? Will is still be affordable? We shall see.
