Big K.R.I.T. has parted ways with Def Jam, and declares free agency. The legendary record label was responsible for the release of K.R.I.T.’s “Live From The Underground” release in 2012 and “Cadillactica” in 2014. Today, however, we celebrate his independence with a new record rightfully titled, “Free Agent.”
“I built from the ground up. Act like they found us. From the signing, the label tried to drown us.”
The single was premiered during K.R.I.T.’s recent visit at Sway in the Morning. During his interview, he also delved into how being independent changed his outlook on the music industry. His biggest take away, though? He’s finally happy. “I can say I’m happy. I’m finally happy now. I’m creating this album and I’m free to do what i want to do. There’s no restrictions here.”
