After averaging 14.2 points and 2.3 assists off the bench for the 2015-16 NBA season, Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford has been named the 2015-16 NBA sixth man of the year.

According to ESPN,

Crawford previously won the award in 2009-10 (Hawks) and 2013-14 (Clippers) as is the only player to win with multiple teams. Detlef Schrempf,Ricky Pierceand Kevin McHale, who each won the award twice, are the only other players to win it multiple times.

Crawford had 51 first-place votes and 341 points from 130 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Golden State’s Andre Iguodala finished second (288 points), while Oklahoma City’s Enes Kanter(182) was third.

To be eligible for the award, players had to have more games in which they came off the bench than they started.

In the 45 games missed by Blake Griffin this season, Crawford was the Clippers’ third-leading scorer at 15.6 points per game. And for the entire season, Crawford scored more points in the fourth quarter (341) than any other Clippers player. In February alone, Crawford averaged 19.5 points.
