The 2017 NFL season is finally here and tonight, the season kicks off with the Super Bowl 51 champion New England Patriots hosting the Kansas City Chiefs.
I expect tonight’s game to be a shootout early and be entertaining the whole night. After the Patriots Super Bowl come back against the Atlanta Falcons, many NFL expects are predicting this will be a easy season this year. I don’t believe that. With Tom Brady entering the age of 40 and with their being several new pieces on the Patriots roster, I think this season will be slightly more difficult than many believe.
Tonight, look to see the Kansas City Chiefs come out the gate firing looking to make a statement early. The Patriots have has the Chiefs number over the past few season but I feel that stops tonight. Look for Cheifs quarterback Alex Smith to be focused tonight and to pass for 3 or more touchdowns and 300 yards in the air. I also expect a big night from Chiefs rookie running back Kareem Hunt. A few days ago on My podcast “These Urban Times” I spoke on Hunt being a fantasy football sleeper. Look for Hunt to rush for over 175 yards with 2 touchdowns. Andy Reid has a eye for finding talented running backs.
The Patriots will come out ready for the big lights but I don’t think they will walk away with the win. Look for Tom Brady to struggle tonight for Brady’s standards tossing for just over 250 yards and a touchdown. I think it will take until Week 3 before the Tom Brady and Pats wide receivers get on the same page. The Patriots defense will give up over 30 points tonight and folks will start to panic already.
On Wednesday on My “These Urban Times” podcast I predicted the Chiefs would win (31-28), for some reason I feel like the Chiefs may go for 40. I’m going with the road team tonight. Let’s see if Andy Reid and the Chiefs can put up 40 on the Pats.
