On Monday February 6th, the Atlanta Hawks two game winning streak came to an end as they fell to a record of (30-22) after losing to the now (33-19) Utah Jazz (120-95).

For the Atlanta Hawks, point guard Dennis Schroder was the team’s leading scorer dropping 21 points on (8-15) shooting from the field. Hawks stars Tim Hardaway Jr. and NBA All-Star Paul Millsap both finished the game with 14 points. Off the bench for the Hawks, Malcolm Delaney scored 13 points on (5-7) shooting. The Hawks made it a close game at one point in the third quarter as they trailed the Jazz (65-62). The Jazz out scored the Hawks in the third quarter (37-23) and never looked back.

For the Utah Jazz, their All-Star forward Gordon Hayward had a big night at Philips Arena as he finished the game with 30 points on (12-18) shooting from the field. Hayward started the game strong scoring 11 points in the first quarter. In his return home town of Atlanta, Jazz big man Derrick Favors scored 20 points on (10-12) shooting from the floor. Jazz point guard George Hill added 22 points and Rudy Gobert added 14 points.

Following the game we spoke with Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder and Jazz stars Gordon Hayward and Rudy Gobert. Coach Bud spoke on the Hawks struggles and the lack of effort his team appeared to show against the Jazz. Hoping his team’s slow start is not a trend, Coach Bud spoke on shaking this lose and move on as the Hawks look to bounce back against the Denver Nuggets.

Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder spoke on his teams third quarter play and the defensive play of Rudy Gobert. The Jazz had a big third quarter and pretty much both the game away in that period. Both Rudy Gobert and Gordon Hayward discussed their team’s hot start, keeping the momentum in their favor and how the Hawks seemed to guard them each individually.

The Atlanta Hawks will look to bounce back on Wednesday night as the Hawks host the Denver Nuggets.
