We are in for a treat in San Antonio. Tonight (March 13th), the (37-29) Atlanta Hawks are on the road to take on the (51-14) San Antonio Spurs.
The Hawks are on a three game winning streak after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. The Hawks complete team performance was key to their victory with rookie Taurean Prince scoring a team and career high 17 points. The Hawks defeated the Spurs back in Atlanta (114-112) in overtime on January 1st but the Spurs have defeated the Hawks more than 18 straight times in Texas. A win tonight in San Antonio could be huge for the Hawks and their head coach Mike Budenholzer who once was an assistant coach of the Spurs.
San Antonio comes into tonight’s matchup as one of the top teams in the NBA but the status of two of their top players is known. MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge both missed the Spurs Saturday night matchup against the Warriors. Leonard was in the Spurs concussion protocol but could return to action tonight. LaMarcus Aldridge has a minor heart arrhythmia and his timetable to return is currently unknown.
The Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs matchup tips off tonight at 8pm EST on TNT live from the AT&T Center. If your in the Atlanta area you can watch the game on Fox Sports South or listen to the game on the radio at 92.9 the game.Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news.
