Basketball returns to Philips Arena tonight as the (37-36) Atlanta Hawks look to get back on the winning side of things against the (22-52) Phoenix Suns.
The Atlanta Hawks have loss seven straight games and they are currently tied for the 6th seed in the Eastern conference playoff race. The Hawks will come into Tuesday night’s game short handed as three of their starters (Paul Millsap, Kent Bazemore and Thabo Sefolosha) will all miss tonight’s game. Paul Millsap will miss the next three games for the Atlanta Hawks. There are just nine games left in the regular season for the Hawks so they need to turn things around quickly with the NBA playoffs just around the corner.
One bright side for the Atlanta Hawks has been the play of rookie Taurean Prince. Prince had his first NBA start on Sunday vs. the Brooklyn Nets and he recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds. The Suns young guns are coming off of a loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday however Saturday night Suns star Devin Booker scored 70 points becoming the sixth person in NBA history to do so. The Suns have a lot of young talent that can score the basketball but are still very young and raw. The matchup of Eric Bledsoe and Dennis Schroder will be key. The Suns defeated the Hawks back in Phoenix (109-107) in November so the Hawks will be looking to even the season series up.
The Phoenix Suns vs. Atlanta Hawks matchup tips off today at Philips Arena. If your in the Atlanta area you can watch the game on Fox Sports South or listen to the game on the radio at 92.9 the game.
