On Friday March 10th, the (35-29) Atlanta Hawks close out their current six game home stand as they host DeMar DeRozan and the (38-26) Toronto Raptors.
The Hawks are coming off of a must needed win on Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets and they will be looking to carry that momentum into tonight’s game. Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder performed like a star Wednesday scoring 31 points and controlling the tempo for his team all night long. The Hawks are currently 4 and a half games back on the Washington Wizards for the top spot in the Southeast division so a win tonight will go well as the Hawks look to improve their playoff seeding position.
This will be the Raptors and Hawks third matchup of the season with both teams splitting the first two games. If both teams end up with the same record, the winner of tonight’s game could get the upper hand in playoff seeding. The Raptors come into the game on Friday without their all-star point guard Kyle Lowry who is out after having wrist surgery a few weeks ago. Raptors big man Jonas Valanciunas has performed well lately and his matchup with Dwight Howard will be key tonight.
The Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors game tips off Friday night at Philips Arena at 8pm. The Hawks hit the road on Saturday for their second game of a back to back as they head to Memphis to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. If your in the Atlanta area you can watch the game on Fox Sports South or listen to the game on the radio at 92.9 the game.Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news.
