On Friday January 27th, the (27-19) Atlanta Hawks return home to Philips Arena to face the (25-20) Washington Wizards in a big Friday night Eastern Conference matchup.
Both teams come into Friday night’s game on a roll. The Atlanta Hawks are looking to climb a step closer to the second seed in the Eastern Conference and they have won 12 of their previous 15 games. The Washington Wizards are rolling as well. The Wizards led by their all-star point guard John Wall and their first year head coach Scott Brook’s have won 8 of their last 10 games including a (123-108) victory against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday (Jan. 24th).
Both the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards will be represented at the 2017 NBA All-Star game in New Orleans as Hawks star Paul Millsap and Wizards star John Wall were notified on Thursday night on their all-star bids. Both Wall and Millsap are making their fourth straight all-star roster.
The Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards have met twice so far this season with the home team winning each game. The Wizards are just a game and a half behind the Hawks in the Eastern Conference and if they continue their wining ways, these two clubs could meet in the postseason. Look for Wizards forward Markieff Morris and Hawks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. to be key to their respective team’s success tonight. A big game from either players could sway the results in their team’s favor.
The Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks game tips off tonight at 8pm at Philips Arena. At halftime of tonight’s game, fans will be treated to a halftime performance from Atlanta rap artist Lil Yachty. Stay tuned to HHS1987 for more NBA news.
