Last night, Chance the Rapper put together a free concert in Chicago after he served as the grand marshal for the city’s annual Bud Billiken Parade. On stage, surprise guests joined Chance, such as Future, and Jeremih. But an even bigger surprise came when former president, Barack Obama surprised chance with an empowering video message! In the video, Obama congratulated Chance on his philanthropic work. From one former Chicago grand marshal to another, it was a great thing to witness if you were there.
“Chance, I am grateful for everything you’ve done on behalf of our young people back home. And I’m hopeful that everyone who is at the concert today, everyone who is getting involved, everybody who has been part of the parade, all of you are in the mindset that you can do anything that you want to do, as long as you put your mind to it.”
