Montreal electro rapper Lou Phelps just announced his upcoming project, 002 / Love Me, out September 21st via Last Gang Records, leading with the disorienting and catchy single “Miss Phatty.” Produced by The Celestics (KAYTRANADA & Lou Phelps) and with additional production from acclaimed jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD, “Miss Phatty” finds Lou seducing a woman over disorienting, staccato synth arpeggios and loping bass flashing a double-time flow as he spits clever come-ons. With Lou’s brother KAYTRANADA taking the helm behind the boards and assuming an executive producer role, 002 / Love Me is a sonically innovative hybrid of electro and rap, as Lou Phelps attacks the instrumentals with inventive rhythms and relatable lyrics. Featuring appearances from BadBadNotGood, Jahkoy, Planet Giza, Pony, and drum master, Karriem Riggins, 002 / Love Me is a seamless hybrid of hip-hop and Montreal’s underground electronic scene.
