VeVo’s YouTube account was recently subjected to a cyber attack that altered, defaced and/or momentarily disabled popular music videos from Drake, Chris Brown, and Justin Bieber.
Bieber’s “Despactio” with Luis Fons and Daddy Yankee is the most-viewed music video of all time, and was taken down when the cover image was replaced with a still shot from Netflix’s “Casa de Papel.”
“Vevo can confirm that a number of videos in its catalogue were subject to a security breach today, which has now been contained. We are working to reinstate all videos affected and our catalogue to be restored to full working order. We are continuing to investigate the source of the breach,” shared Vevo in a statement they released.
Drake’s “God’s Plan,” along with popular videos by Chris Brown, Post Malone, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, and Shakira, among others, were all tampered with as well.
