Mali Hunter Talks Upcoming Women in Music Creative Camp, Working with Missy Elliott on Her Project & More (Video)

On Thursday August 29th, some of the biggest stars in Hip-Hop and R&B were in Atlanta, GA at the Byers Theatre – Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center for the 2019 BMI/Hip-Hop Awards.

 

The 2019 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards saluted the top songwriters, producers, publishers and administrators of the past year’s 36 most-performed R&B/Hip-Hop songs in the United States from BMI’s repertoire of more than 13 million musical works.

The night was also a celebration of R&B living legend Brandy Norwood as BMI honored her great career. As some of the BMI awards nominees and artist walked the red carpet before the BMI awards, Terrell Thomas spoke with creative/ chef/ music consultant Mali Hunter.

 

Mali Hunter has been known behind the scenes for years but over the years recently, more of the general public. Mali Hunter runs the world famous Tree Sound Studio in Atlanta and she has curated some of the biggest events in the south. Most of the hits we hear today on the radio were recorded, mixed or mastered at Tree Sound.

 

Mali opened up and spoke with Terrell about her upcoming Women in music creative camp taking place in October, Dreamville recording their latest project at Tree Sound, her team working on Missy Elliott’s new proejct and more.
