Richard Paul Nicoletti is confronting six misdemeanor allegations.

A previous Philadelphia cop has been hit with various charges for pepper spraying kneeling Black Lives Matter protestors, as per HuffPost.

The lead prosecutor’s office declared on Wednesday (July 22) that Richard Paul Nicoletti was confronting six misdemeanor accusations of oppresion, careless danger, simple assualt and possession of an instrument of crime. A month ago, Nicoletti was gotten on camera approaching bowing nonconformists on Interstate 676 and showering three of them in their face.

“He physically pulled down goggles one of the protesters was wearing for protection and sprayed her again in the face,” the office said in a statement.

Nicoletti then went up to another protestor, who was in a protected position, and fiercely tossed the man on his back before pepper spraying him in the face.

As indicated by District Attorney Larry Krasner, his office “will not make excuses for crimes committed by law enforcement that demean the democratic freedoms so many Americans have fought and died to preserve.” The former cop’s attorney says that his client is “being charged with crimes for simply following orders.”
