Rising artist Nizo jump-started his impact on the world at the tender age of twelve. Emerging from Flint Michigan, Nizo continues to make his distinctive mark with his witty punchlines paired with feel-good music.
The Flint flowing rhymer enjoys making music for the masses. Giving them something good to listen and relate to. During these tiring and distant times, Nizo’s spirit lifting music does just that! This is because his music tells a story. It’s inspired by his life experiences as well as him being raised in and surviving an era of poverty. With his intricate creative process he openly utilized his music as a tool to share his story with others and express himself. He strives to open doors for the younger generation and uplift black people. The Flint native is making an impact within the Hip Hop culture by expressing himself through his talents.
Different elements of his life story such as his upbringing play an influential part in his music. His passion for music drove him to create an ingenious process that influenced his unique sound.
His most recent release comes as his latest mixtape titled, Flashback Freestyle Friday. The project is a compilation of a few sampled songs by some of Hip Hop’s greats and their greatest hits. He wanted to show how they inspire him as well as his appreciation to them as artists and to their artistry. It was important for him to create a project like this. He briefly discusses how it all came about:
“I came up with the concept of this tape by watching the greats when it came to rhyming. They all proved themselves. Every song is my favorite, each one has a different vibe and adds new flavor to this generation. The era of music I relate to the most would probably be 2000 trap music, the making money mentality but surviving in the streets. The hold on me that music has makes me want to bring out a fresh style and bringing the best out of me. The tools I used to stay authentic on this project was just my mind. I create so well in my head before I bless the beat. What inspired the concept of this project is past emcees I respect right now they all proved themselves.”
