Haiti, which is a Caribbean country that shares the island of Hispaniola with the Dominican Republic, is well known for its beautiful beaches, food and culture, and is also known for their contribution to the music industry. Specifcally on the hip hop side of things. The music industry is flled with hip hop and R&B acts with haitian backgrounds. Such acts include Grammy winner Wyclef Jean, Kodak Black, Future and the list goes on.
In the USA, Florida seems to be a stomping ground for many talented up and coming haitian rappers. One such rapper goes by the name Moneysign FresH or as the world will come to know him as, Forever Fre$H. Hailing from Broward County Florida, this Haitian American hip hop artist is not your average rap act. With a monotone voice sometimes reminiscent of the late Pop Smoke, and the ability to rap in American and creole which is the language native to Haiti, this hip hop artist is anything but average.
With views, streams and followers reaching the thousands and growing by the day, Forever Fre$h will soon be a name known to many. “Haitians are strong people and we are survivors” says Fre$h when asked where his strength to continue on comes from, when going up against a ruthless fghter known as the music industry. An industry that can be costly and over saturated with so many up and coming artists. Fre$h is persistent and refuses to lose or take no for an answer.
