Last month, Lil Gotit, along with the city of Atlanta and the hip-hop community worldwide, grieved the tragic loss of Gotit’s older brother Lil Keed. In the wake of his passing, Lil Gotit was quick to voice his renewed mission via Instagram: “All gas no brakes no more playin. I got you keed!”
Making good on his promise, Gotit returns to share his video for “MF TRIMM,” recorded and released as a tribute to his late brother. Titled after a slang term coined by Gotit and Keed that roughly translates to “trippin’,” “MF TRIMM” finds Gotit carrying the torch, spitting slick, unfazed flows over the hypnotic instrumental’s brilliant bells. In the video, directed by Klever Visuals, Gotit soaks up the Miami nightlife as he traverses strip clubs, city streets, and marina parking lots, before ending up on a yacht surrounded by his cohort. Though Gotit might be enjoying his luxurious leisure, he lets it be known that the grind never ceases: “B**** would’ve thought I was a swiper the way I use that Visa/Boy don’t lurk, like RiRi work work work, yeah with that Nina.”
“MF TRIMM” also marks Gotit’s first new music since his recent project, The Cheater, released last month via Alamo Records. Home to highlights like “She Know It,” “Take Care” ft. Millie Go Lightly & Toosii, “Rich Sh*t” ft. Ty Dolla $ign & Lil Keed, and “6 Figures” ft. BIG30 & Lil Keed, The Cheater introduces the mischievous rapper’s latest persona–following in the footsteps of previous projects that presented him as a “Hood Baby” or “Top Chef” or “Superstar Creature”–proudly polyamorous and persistently pushing the envelope, The Cheater is happy to entertain, but never to be trusted.
