This morning (April 22), Tay Keith unleashes a new track titled “Lights Off,” which is inspired by the work of current frontrunners Lil Durk and Gunna. In a track that features additional production assistance from Mike Dean, the artists tell stories about their lavish, rock star lifestyles:
Tay Keith, alongside BlocBoy JB, collaborated on the mixtape Bacc 2 Da Bloc in January. The mixtape included songs written or produced by Pooh Shiesty, Co Cash, EST Gee, and SpotemGottem. He previously collaborated with Lil Juice and Fast Cash Boyz on the tracks Warning Shots and Fxck The Cash Up.
The Memphis beatsmith is currently considered one of the most sought after producers in hip hop, in spite of the aforementioned joint collaborations. During the past few years alone, Tay Keith has provided his talent to songs like Meek Mill “We Slide,” Yo Gotti “Recession Proof,” City Girls “City On Lock,” Megan Thee Stallion “Movie,” Lil Nas X “HOLIDAY,” Lil Wayne “Kam,” DJ Khaled “EVERY CHANCE I GET,” Moneybagg Yo “Wat Be Wrong??,” French Montana “Fraud,” and Bobby Shmurda “Shmoney.” Having graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an academic degree in media management, Keith was also awarded an honorary professor title by his former school last fall. The following photo shows him holding up the certificate to commemorate the well-deserved accomplishment:
