In the music industry, bringing something unique is what separates the visionary from the typical performer. DJ Manifesto is proof that manifesting a new sound might be a scary process but is worth the battle.
Recently, violinist DJ Manifesto introduced violin-based electronic music that blends violin lines with brute force bass lines. His unique sound is a mid-tempo melodic backbeat with cozy, sub Bass that meshes nicely with harmonic cadences like typical classical instrumentation.” DJ Manifesto is the first violinist DJ in the world, who’s performed for over 20 years.
It all started when Manifesto first played the violin at five years old. The musician was invited to attend a fundraiser by the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) At the age of 11.
That was the beginning of DJ Manifesto’s lifelong career as a musician. Once behind the turntables, DJ Manifesto became what he is today because of the various struggles he endured. DJ Manifesto gradually began developing skills in his father’s recording studio until he eventually took over the studio.
DJ Manifesto hit the road playing over 1,500 shows across the country, sharing the stage with icons like Paul Van Dyk, Nadia Ali, and Victor Calderone. Toward the end of his time as a member of Rome Will Burn — a successful LA duo — he was able to help the duo generate over one million Spotify streams.
DJ Manifesto continues musically, sacrificing for the art and craft of the DJ dance floor. “I draw inspirations from my orchestra background and I’m very, very passionate about and really dig getting to go onstage and be part of the experience,” he notes. His phenomenally energetic performances are the result of a drive and passion that never wanes.
“I want to create a melodic journey through sound and emotion. I do not just want people to dance. I want people to feel emotions, cry, laugh and of course dance – all in one performance. I DJ like a violinist and play the violin like a DJ.”
After naming himself DJ Manifesto, a name which was given from a friend which means “a public declaration of policy”, DJ Manifesto decided to reinvent himself again. He recently launched another alias called “MOODY” which is a deep/tech alias with the violin – more centered around house and techno.
DJ Manifesto is not yet content with the achievements he has made. He still wants to push the boundaries of dance music and make a revolutionary sound. Asked why DJ Manifesto is different from other DJs, he responds that along with the passion he has for the art of DJing and a burning desire to always be creative, he draws his inspiration from his orchestra experience.
When you take a perspective from one such artist, you get a glimpse into how he sees the world.
The violinist DJ currently resides in Las Vegas, a city he says shares his love of eclectic music production and sound.
