Coco Jones, the triple-threat multi-hyphenate actress, singer/songwriter and R&B’s new “It Girl,” celebrates an absolute breakthrough year with the RIAA Gold certification of her mammoth single “ICU,” as it hits #1 on both the Mediabase and Billboard Mainstream Urban Charts.
Previously nominated for both BET and BET Soul Train Awards, and won the NAACP Image Award for “Best New Artist,” Coco has added three 2023 BET Awards nominations to her tally: Best New Artist, Best Female R&B/Pop, and Best Actress. Today, she was announced among the first group of BET Awards performers, airing live from Los Angeles on Sunday, June 25th.
Also today, Coco has released a brand new performance video for “Crazy For Me,” a standout track from her debut EP WHAT I DIDN’T TELL YOU.
Named one of the Top 10 Best Songs of 2022 by The Hollywood Reporter,“ICU” is one of the focal tracks on WHAT I DIDN’T TELL YOU DELUXE EP, released in January. Coco’s original debut EP’s seven songs – also including“Caliber” – were expanded with four new tracks, including “Double Back,” the follow-up single + video. Also included was “Simple,” Coco’s duet collaboration with Babyface from his critically acclaimed Girls’ Night Out album.
2023 has turned into a landmark year for Coco, who first broke onto the scene as a young Disney star, went on to star in movies, then joined the cast (as ‘Hilary Banks’) in Peacock’s Bel-Air, the Fresh Prince reboot that premiered in February 2022. In March 2023, Coco was selected for BET Amplified Artist Of the Month. Coco delivered a show-stopping performance of “ICU” at the BET Soul Train Awards ’22 in November,, and wowed nationwide audiences with her red-hot late night debut on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
