Rhyming about life on the block through his earthy rasp, Illinois rapper Doodie Lo is one of the realest rappers in the Midwest. Teaming up with two fellow street heroes for the latest single from his upcoming album, What Made Me, the Kankakee native shares “Tweakers,” a fiery new single and music video. The song features guest spots from Detroit’s own Skilla Baby and New Orleans heavy-hitter Rob49, who demonstrate crackling chemistry with the OTF rapper and shout him out in their verses (“Only the family can play with me, I tweak like Doodie Lo,” says Skilla). The song arrives with a brand new video, directed by Justin Kim, in which the three rappers trade the mic and charismatically perform their verses.
“Tweakers” is the latest single to emerge from Doodie Lo’s What Made Me, his upcoming album . The new single follows “HOODBACHI,” a collaboration with Tee Grizzley, “4 Rings” ft. BIG30, and “Hospice,” a heart-wrenching solo track. The follow-up to his acclaimed 2021 debut Big Doodie Lo, What Made Me arrives on September 27th via EMPIRE.
Since dropping his debut album, Doodie Lo has been keeping the streets hot with “Popeyes” ft. Icewear Vezzo & Deeski, “Smurkio Flow,” “Play With My Name,” and “Daddies Baby” helped Doodie Lo make his mark in 2023. The Lil Durk co-signed rapper made a big impression with his debut Big Doodie Lo, which is home to “Me & Doodie Lo,” an energetic collab between King Von and Doodie (over 20 million YouTube views), in which the legendary O-Block native gives Mr. Kankakee an enthusiastic co-sign. Over the past few years, Doodie Lo has considerably grown his profile, racking up over 80 million streams to date, gaining hundreds of thousands of YouTube subscribers and Spotify Monthly Listeners, and collaborating with heavy hitters like Kodak Black, Moneybagg Yo, Pooh Shiesty, and more.
