The Ikonic label relaunch have been well strategized. Being aware of female hip hop being over sexualized Eleven decided to shake things up. Instead of continuing to reach out to egotistical unsigned artist. He decided to reach out to his friend Shaqueen aka Ma Barker. The female veteran best known for her legendary collaborations with Kool G Rap ,Jadakiss and Big Daddy Kane, to name a few. Ma Barker has been consistent over the years featuring with some of today’s dopest lyricist such as Busta Rhymes artist Prayah, Code Blue, Fred the Godson (RIP) and NOE. The femcee brings more to the table than lyrics. She’s also the executive producer of the award-winning web series Project Heat . Eleven says “you can’t sign Ma Barker like the average artist. She’s too important to Hip Hop. A partnership makes more sense.” He continues “Barker is sexy and spits hard lyrics. She’s really about that life. Besides us being good friends Ma Barker is a legend.”
Says Ikonic President Eleven. In a climate when Hip Hop disposes they legends ,Eleven sees the glass half full. The female legend has her own brand which include Empire and Sony Distribution. Eleven says “ Eleven’s goal is to let the world know why his friend is a Legend and to help claim her spot not only in hip hop but in music. Also in the works Eleven produced a upcoming Banga wit Ma Barker & 1st Lady Diana, and Anthem “New York City” by 1st Lady Diana. Both slated to be released under The Ikonic Label. Eleven is determined to add a balance to female Hip Hop.
