Returning with a sequel of blockbuster proportions, multiplatinum rapper and Brooklyn native Fivio Foreign unveils his follow up to PAIN & LOVE mixtape with new PAIN & LOVE 2, today via Columbia Records.
To celebrate the release, he uncovered the music video for the latest single “TRAUMA (feat. Lil Tjay)”. Directed by JLShotThat, Fivio and Tjay pull up to a bowling alley surrounded by friends. In between celebratory vignettes of strikes, shots, and champagne, these two New York titans rap on the street outside and in a luxury high rise. The music video made its broadcast premiere on BET Jams as well as on the Paramount Times Square billboards.
It seamlessly translates the mood and energy of the song to the screen.
As a whole, the ten-track body of work finds Fivio at the apex of his mic prowess. Right out of the gate, the opener “WHO KNEW” sets the tone. Over propulsive production, he launches into an upbeat flow, culminating on a chantable chorus.
Fivio unleashes an ominous banger in the form of “CLUTCH.” With the track, he ushers in another era for the drill movement, bodying a glitchy beat with a breathless cadence.
Popcaan elevates “THE BEST” with a sultry dancehall beat, and Rowdy Rebel gets raw on the piano-laden “PAIN PRESSURE.” PAIN & LOVE 2 ultimately showcases the stunning scope of his artistry.
