Henry “Big Bank Hank” Jackson of The Sugarhill Gang has passed away at age 57. The Bronx native succumbed to his battle with cancer around 2 a.m. Jackson was one of the founding members of the legendary group to is known as the first act to make hip-hop popular with their classic, “Rapper’s Delight.”
Wonder Mike and Master Gee of Sugarhill released a brief statement via TMZ this morning saying, “So sad to hear of our brother’s passing. Rest in peace Big Bank.”
