Ever since Rick Ross announced Diddy would be his new manager, the Biggie comparisons have been inevitable. Regardless of how logical or asinine as it may sound, Ross has been enjoying a lot of success lately and even had Diddy refer to him as the “Biggie of the South.” High praise coming from a man who was instrumental in Biggie’s success during the short time he was around to make music.
That being said, not everyone is going to latch on to these comparisons. Comparing anyone to legends is a daunting task, but when asking the opinion of a man who once (and apparently still does) had a problem with Ross, reservation is one of the many emotions that are thrown out there. Doggie Diamonds of Forbez DVD recently caught up with Tony Yayo to discuss the topic. A G-Unit member speaking on Rick Ross? Not hard to guess how this ended up.
A life long Biggie fan, Yayo, while he respects and admires Diddy, feels Ross is not deserving of such an accolade. Mainly because he feels the music doesn’t match the employment history.
“Rick Ross is the ultimate fake n*gga to me. Once you say my name and talk about my family and all that sh*t, it goes to a whole other level. I don’t respect the n*gga. I look at the game funny because there are a lot of real street n*ggas that are really living this sh*t, that are really putting their lives on the line when they go do these shows. And go to difference places, venues networking with real n*ggas. Then you got a n*gga right here that is claiming he’s doing all this sh*t and you was really a C.O.”
