NEW JERSEY – OHIO — July 30, 2026 — Rhasun, founder of New Jersey- and Ohio-based Dominion Hill Records, has officially confirmed that BLAKTRILOGY Vol. 3 is currently in production and is scheduled for release in Fall 2026 through Roc Nation Distribution.
The announcement marks the 20th anniversary of the original BLAKTRILOGY compilation, which debuted in January 2006 and showcased a powerful collective of artists representing Bayonne, New Jersey, Harlem, and Bushwick, Brooklyn. The groundbreaking project demonstrated that independent labels and artists could compete on a national level through strategic marketing and grassroots promotion.
Long before streaming reshaped the music business, Rhasun forged a fully independent national distribution network by negotiating directly with major music retailers, including Stedeford’s (Pittsburgh, PA), Sam Goody, FYE, Coconuts Music, Willie’s Records in Richmond, Virginia, Amoeba Music in Los Angeles, California, and the iconic Tower Records without the backing of a major record label. The achievement positioned Rhasun as a respected figure in independent music culture. In 2006, BLAKTRILOGY was stocked alongside nationally distributed releases such as Fishscale by Ghostface Killah, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, and Hell Hath No Fury by Clipse while maintaining complete independent ownership.
The original BLAKTRILOGY was mixed by legendary Wu-Tang Clan producer 4th Disciple, who also produced two standout records, including the fan favorite “Cold World,” featuring Sounds and acclaimed R&B vocalist Aaron Bliss (Jeff Lake), whose soulful delivery helped define one of the project’s most memorable moments.
The album was mastered by renowned engineer Chris Gehringer at Sterling Sound, whose résumé includes work with Drake, Ed Sheeran, Gwen Stefani, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Twenty One Pilots, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, and countless other chart-topping artists.
Beyond traditional retail, Rhasun and his cousin Khalil personally promoted the project by traveling city to city in a shrink-wrapped black Lincoln Navigator, selling CDs directly from the vehicle and building the project one fan at a time. Their relentless grassroots campaign ultimately led to a distribution agreement with influential independent New York powerhouse Koch Records in 2008, now known as MNRK Music.
Continuing the legacy, Rhasun executive produced BLAKTRILOGY Vol. 2 in 2022, releasing the project in both digital and physical CD formats. The compilation featured DJ Kay Slay, Eazy E3, Kinetic 9, Hoffa, Shogun Assason of Killarmy, Dez3agle (Water Team), Bizz the Prince, Hai Tarik, Solomon Childs, Sadat X of Brand Nubian, and Cali Cash Flow, one of the breakout artists from the original 2006 release.
“In 2005–06 I was hungry,” says Rhasun of Dominion Hill Records. “I had a vision and a dream in my head that I was going to bring to life by any means. I never really stopped to think about the significance of my first retail deal—that was unheard of at the time. This new album has to reflect the hunger we all had 20 years ago. Twenty years later I want to hear maturity from the artists—the storytelling of love, hell, or redemption. That energy you feel after listening to a Coltrane album.
I executive produced a lot of music in my career, but this album was the foundation.”
With BLAKTRILOGY Vol. 3, Rhasun aims to celebrate two decades of independent excellence while introducing a new generation of artists alongside respected veterans who continue to shape hip-hop culture. The upcoming release is expected to honor the spirit of the original compilations while showcasing the evolution of Dominion Hill Records and its commitment to authentic lyricism, artist development, and independent ownership.
