News broke a few months back that the Queen Of Rap, Nicki Minaj, would be starring in and producing an ABC Family show aptly named, Nicki. She’s now picked out the cast and announced who will be co-starring in the sitcom. Ariana Neal (know for her role in Fruitvale Station) will play the role of a young Onika, Whoopi Goldberg guest starring as the neighbor and model Selita Ebanks, Wesley Jonathan and McCarrie McCauseland making up the rest of the family members of the show.
Minaj took to Instagram to comment about Ariana making the cut:
I literally cried watching her taped audition. I demanded to meet her! Sat in a room with her teaching her how to rap by doing a beat on the table & forcing her to stay on beat! Lol. Then pulled out all the attitude she had in her lil body. Haha! She’s tough! And so sweet & cute.
