Troy Ave is out on on $500,000 bail, as reported by NY Daily news, and is now pursing a lawsuit against Irving Plaza in New York City. Ave is looking to sue the venue for an alleged security breach on the night of the shooting on May 25th. The Brooklyn rapper announced the news, along with his lawyer, at a press conference stating, “I’m going through a lot. I just want to get my life back.”
His lawyer, Scott Leemon, added, “He (Ave) is the victim here. He did not bring a gun into this place. And we are seeking redress for the negligence.”
To refresh your memories, Ave was arrested and charged with attempted murder after appearing to shoot a weapon in the venue’s surveillance video. As we await the results of Ave’s legal pursuits, we know that for now, Ave is facing travel restrictions, has to wear a monitoring bracelet and has been banned from performance venues like Irving Plaza.
