It’s been thirteen years since the Black Eyed Peas released their hit single, “Where Is The Love?” And in celebration of its anniversary, will.iam, Fergie, apl.d.ap, and Taboo are re-releasing the single with a star-studded lineup for an official remix. The remake, according to will.i.am, was inspired by the various tragic events that have happened throughout the world – including recent attacks in Paris, Belgium, and Turkey. As well as the deaths of Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, the police officers in Dallas and the Orlando mass shooting.
“Everyone was calling on us. Like, ‘we need that song again,’” said will.i.am, who hopes the song’s message will reach Millennials the same way it reached listeners in 2003.
“I don’t think they (Millennials) realize just how powerful they are. I hope this song inspires them to go all out, scream from the tallest mountain, care like your freedom depends on it. Pay attention like that is at risk.”
Let’s spread love like the world is depending on it…
