The Temple Owls are off to their best start in nearly 25 years in this young NCAA college basketball season.
The now (6-0) Temple Owls faced Big Five rivals the Villanova Wildcats (4-4) at Philadelphia’s legendary Pavilion and beat them on the Wildcats home floor (76-61) ending a 22 year losing streak on Nova’s home court.
Temple seemed to find ways to take advantage of sloppy play from the wildcats who committed 20 turnovers, something highly out of character for Jay Wright coached teams. Temple star Scoottie Randall added a game high with 21 points going 6-12 from the field.
The (6-0) Temple will face the (8-0) second ranked Duke Blue Devils tomorrow afternoon at the Izod Center in New Jersey. Last year the Owls upset the then fifth ranked Blue Devils 78-73. Temple was unranked then and they are currently unranked now.
